The First Battle of Bull Run is also known as The First Battle of Manassas. The First Battle of Bull Run ended in Confederate victory. During the battle 460 union soldiers were killed, 1,124 wounded, 1,312 captured/missing. During the battle 387 confederate soldiers died, 1,582 wounded, 13 missing. It was a very gory battle. The commanders for the confederacy were Joseph E. Johnston and P.G.T. Bearegard. The comander for the Union was Irvin McDowell. The war was on July 21, 1861 in Fairfax County and Prince William County , Virginia.
